We all need extra Vitamin D for a healthier glowing skin and hair.
Prepare your hair to the sun – Use the Aveda Spray Sun Care Protective Hair Veil on dry or damp hair. Use only a small amount and layer as needed – do not saturate hair. Style as usual. Reapply when necessary. This will protect colour and add shine.
Have a healthy exposure with the sun – Although, you want to make the most of the sunshine while it lasts, do not abuse! The sun is very powerful with potentially dangerous side effects on your skin. Expose yourself gradually in the morning before the sun is strongest and slowly build up the amount of time you spend in the sun. Initially, use a higher spf then you can gradually minimise the spf amount if you whish to get more brown.
Always avoid sunburns – Sunburns cause problems that can age your skin and add black spots. Always use sun protection! On a daily bases you can Nurture your lips with our lip saver spf 15, no one likes dry lips.
Boost your “internal sunscreen” – Consuming good fats and antioxidant will strengthen your skin cells, helping to protect them from sun damage. Eating plenty of vegetables and fruits such as blueberries, raspberries, and pomegranates and eating nuts and oily fish are great options when going into the sun. But eat them in moderations, to reduce any unwanted calorie intake.
After sun care – To restore hair after sun exposure cleanse and refresh your hair with Aveda’s light tropical blend of After-sun Hair and Body Cleanser. This will remove chlorine, salt and build-up from head to toe. Follow with After-Sun Hair Treatment Masque, roots to ends. Leave in 2-5 minutes. This will replenish your hair’s protein balance, moisturises and defends against free radicals and the damaging effects of sunlight.
To renew skin after the harshness of the sun drench your skin with moisture with one of our hydrating creams. Why not try Aveda’s Caribbean Therapy Body Cream or Aveda’s Replenishing Body Moisturizer for a softer and moisture-replenished skin.
